Payment options to purchase debenture stock - how to invest
Primary Market

Application for debenture stock listed on the Primary Market of the New Zealand Dentures Exchange, will be accepted only on the application form accompanying the respective investment statement.

Personal or bank cheques, made payable to the issuer, will be accepted for investment deposits. In most cases, direct funds transfer to the issuer is also possible. All deposits must be accompanied by a completed application form.

No brokerage is payable by the purchaser.

Payment for debentures trading and securities purchased on the the New Zealand Debentures Exchange may be made by cheque, direct bank credit or through the online PayPal transaction system.

Secondary Market

Securities traded on the Secondary Market of the New Zealand Debentures Exchange, will attract brokerage at the rate specified in the Exchange Rules with a minimum transaction cost of $30. All brokerage is payable by the seller. No brokerage is payable by the purchaser.

On the matching of bid and offer (buy and sell) prices for any listed security, both parties will be advised that a successful sale has been contracted. On receipt of this advice plus an accompanying invoice, buyer will deposit the required transaction cost to the Canopus Investments Limited Holding Account, either by cheque, bank draft, direct funds transfer or by using the PayPal online payments system.

The seller will also forward the relevant stock certificate(s) to the New Zealand Debentures Exchange for verification and presentation to the registrar for processing. On advice from the registrar that the stock has been transferred to the buyer, The New Zealand Debentures Exchange will forward funds, held in the Holding Account for that transaction, to the seller, less brokerage and any miscellaneous transaction costs including communications and postage.

Currencies will be converted at the prevailing rate from the Reuters Foreign Exchange public access service on the day of the transaction or other reputable source if the Reuters source is unavailable.
